This is a 2 bedroom home and studio for two brothers, both of whom are artists. They wanted an artist’s “barn -shack” with dedicated artist studio space. The site is on a spectacular bluff overlooking the Provincetown dunes, Cape Cod Bay, and the PTown Monument.
Taking cues from the iconic Truro shacks just beyond the marshes below, as well as the almost-visible Dune Shacks of Provincetown, the design is a simple, more modern play on that vernacular. The siting of the house minimizes it’s footprint on this fragile landscape, and provides carefully framed views of the environment and Provincetown beyond.
